How to Celebrate Fall in Estes Park

Pumpkins for fall in estes park on wooden background

Autumn always brings fall colors, crisp weather, and fun times to Estes Park. Many believe there isn’t much to do in the area as snowfall approaches, but fall in Estes Park has much in store for those who visit! Summer crowds have died down, giving you an excellent opportunity to explore the Rocky Mountain beauty at your leisure. We know the best way to celebrate the new season if you’re headed this way for autumn. Discover it all while the leaves begin to fall!

Pumpkins & Pilsners Festival

The Pumpkins & Pilsners Festival is on October 8, right in the heart of Estes Park! The festival is great for all ages; the adults can sip on a locally crafted beer while the little ones pick pumpkins and enjoy some crafts. A beer tent, pumpkin patches, pony rides, and more will also be available during the festivities.

Leaf-Peeping in Estes Park

The vibrant green leaves among the trees turn to beautiful golden hues as Fall approaches. Many visitors gather in Estes Park to do their leaf-peeping, and we know where to take in the fall colors! Rocky Mountain National Park is filled with dozens of spots where the fall leaves bloom, especially near Ouzel Falls. Exploring the Lake Estes Marina is another terrific area to take a stroll and see fall colors!

Wildlife Tours

Estes Park is home to a vast wildlife population, and you can even be right outside your cabin! One of the most incredible ways to observe it all in autumn is through a wildlife tour. Yellow Wood Guiding offers fall tours that take you through Rocky Mountain National Park and observe elk rutting season. Pack up your camera and get some great shots of elk herds grazing in the grass!

A Trip to the Brewery

Spend some time in the crisp fall weather with a stop at one of the great breweries in the area! Avant Garde Ale Works is in downtown Estes Park and is home to 10 rotating craft beer drafts and other locally brewed beers. Enjoy some tasty snacks from a food truck and join in on one of their many events during your visit!
