Things to do

Holiday shopping

Take a stroll along the Riverwalk in downtown Estes Park and pop in at some of the local shops for unique holiday gifts. Be sure to stop in at The Spruce House on Elkhorn Avenue for some Estes Park-themed souvenirs and holiday toys.

Spend a day at the spa

Treat yourself this holiday season and stay inside by unwinding with a massage or specialty spa treatment at one of these Estes Park spas.

Snowshoe in Rocky Mountain National Park

Nothing says Christmas like blankets of snow covering the ground. Head to higher ground and enjoy the many snowshoeing hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Bring your own pair or check out the many rental shops in town. Read here for some of our favorite snowshoeing trails to help plan your outing.

Sledding in Hidden Valley

What says the holidays more than a day sledding down fluffy white powder? Head out to Hidden Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park for a day of sledding with the family. Originally a downhill ski area, Hidden Valley is now open by the park as a sledding area during the winter.

Go cross-country skiing

Strap on a pair of backcountry Nordic skis and break your own trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. For ski-friendly valleys head to the west side of the park and for more challenging terrain head to the east side of the park. Outside the park try Devil’s Thumb Ranch or Brainard Lake Recreation area.
